Travel & Accomodation

The island of Arran is situated on the West coast of Scotland in the Firth of Clyde.

The island is served by two ferry routes, the main one being the 55 minute sailing from Ardrossan – Brodick. Adrossan is a 50 minute train ride South West of Glasgow.

Trains

Scotrail run an hourly service to Ardrossan Harbour from Glasgow Central and Paisley Gilmour St. The journey takes approx 50 minutes from Glasgow Central

Flights

Glasgow Airport is the main hub.  Paisley Gilmour Street  Train Station is a short taxi ride from the airport.

Accomodation

 

Arran is one of Scotland’s premier tourist locations with lots of accommodation from the 5 Star Auchrannie Resort and Spa in Brodick to the excellent campsite 300m from the start / finish in  Lamlash.

Lamlash has lots of B&B accommodation, as do Whiting Bay, Brodick and Corrie.

Further afield Blackwaterfoot has an excellent hotel and up at Lochranza the Outdoor centre are offering cheap bunk accommodation with bike transfers to the race.
